To Whom It May Concern:
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter for the 61st New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment. The 61st held a recruitment encampment at our museum, the Havens Homestead Museum. The members of the 61st spent two nights and two days on our Museum grounds. They carried out maneuvers as any unit would on a daily basis, they drilled and fired their weapons in demonstrations throughout the day. Members of the 61st fielded questions and gave talks to the many visitors who attended the event.
Many of the visitors participated in numerous demonstrations during the day.
